CFM is a competence based exam that tests you on the 11 competencies identified by IFMA after conducting a Global Job Task Analysis/Survey.

For a candidate to be certified, he must demonstrate competence in all eleven competencies at a very high level.

To achieve your goal of becoming a Certified Facility Manager, it is recommended amongst others that you acquire the Facility Management Professional Designation and develop competence in the 11 competency areas as identified by IFMA, exposed to best practice of the 11 competency for at least 6 years then you are ready to apply to take the exam for CFM credential.
